Jerusalem to Jericho

Our day trips to Jericho from Jerusalem take in the main historical highlights of Jericho including ancient Jericho (also called Tell Jericho) and its renowned archeological remains. We stop at Wadi Qelt to enjoy the views of Saint George’s monastery on the cliff face and continue on to Hisham’s Palace an ancient desert castle famous for its huge historical mosaics. At the Jordan river we visit the Baptism site and ascend by cable car to the Mount of Temptation and its scenic monastery. We enjoy the unique and tranquil views before heading back to Jerusalem by early evening. If time permits we can visit the Monastery of Saint Gerasimus during the return drive.

A short visit to The Dead Sea or the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem can be added to the tour plan.
Cable car and entrance fees are not included in the tour cost.
Lunch is on route at a local restaurant.
